Wenonah Dragons (Birmingham, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Fairfield Tigers (Fairfield, AL), 24-17 in a league challenge.

The Dragons now own a 7-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Paul W. Bryant for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 19. Wenonah will face a Stampede squad coming off a 18-3 league loss to Northridge (Tuscaloosa, AL). The Stampede record now stands at 2-14.

With the loss, Fairfield falls to 1-6 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Pleasant Grove (Pleasant Grove, AL) to face the Spartans in a 5A Area 9 challenge on Monday, April 18. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 15-6. Pleasant Grove won 16-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Minor (Adamsville, AL)
