Lake Park Lancers (Roselle, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting St. Charles East Fighting Saints (St. Charles, IL), 20-19 in a league challenge.

The Lancers now own a 4-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to South Elgin for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 16. Lake Park will face a Storm squad coming off a 18-1 league win over Elgin (Elgin, IL). The Storm record now stands at 9-2.

With the loss, St. Charles East falls to 6-2 on the campaign. The Fighting saints host Oak Park-River Forest (Oak Park, IL) to face the Huskies in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 16. The Huskies enter the challenge with a record of 2-4. Oak Park-River Forest lost 9-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Saint Ignatius College Prep (Chicago, IL)
