Lanier County Bulldogs (Lakeland, GA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Echols County Wildcats (Statenville, GA), 10-2 in a league test.

With the win, Lanier County upgrades its record to 17-9 on the year. The Bulldogs travel to Atkinson County (Pearson, GA) to clash with the Rebels in a 1A D-II Area 2 match on Tuesday, April 18. The Rebels go into the match with a record of 5-19. Atkinson County won 8-4 in their recent league match against Turner County (Ashburn, GA)

The Wildcats (10-13) will now prepare for their match against Georgia Christian (Valdosta, GA). The Generals go into the non-league match with a 5-8 record. In their last match, Georgia Christian was overwhelmed by Southwest Georgia Academy (Damascus, GA), 12-5, in a league match.
