Gate City Blue Devils (Gate City, VA) fans were pleased Friday as they observed their soccer team knock off the visiting Union Bears (Appalachia, VA), 3-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Blue Devils confront the Abingdon Falcons (Abingdon, VA) in a Mountain 7 challenge, on Tuesday, April 18. Gate City will attempt to better on its 7-2 season record. The Falcons enter the challenge with a 6-4 record after their 9-0 league win over Ridgeview (Clintwood, VA).

The Bears now have a 0-4 record. They take the field next when they host John Battle for a Mountain 7 challenge on Monday, April 17. Union will confront a Trojans team coming off a 4-0 league loss to Central Wise (Norton, VA). The Trojans record now stands at 1-6.
