The Cooper Pirates softball team (Lubbock, TX), was routed 11-8 in Friday's non-league test with the host Amarillo Sandies (Amarillo, TX)

Coming up next, the Sandies encounter the Tascosa Rebels (Amarillo, TX) in a 5A Region I District 3 test, on Tuesday, April 18. Amarillo will attempt to improve on its 26-1 season record. The Rebels come into the test with a 10-16 record after their 32-2 league win over Palo Duro (Amarillo, TX).

The Pirates (8-7) will now prepare for their test against Abilene (Abilene, TX). The Eagles come into the 5A Region I District 4 test with a 24-5 record. In their last test, Abilene edged Coronado (Lubbock, TX), 13-0, in a league test.
