Athens Bulldogs (The Plains, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Wellston Golden Rockets (Wellston, OH), 4-2 in a league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 11-0 record. They take the field next when they host Philo for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 15. Athens will battle a Electrics squad coming off a 7-6 non-league win over Claymont (Uhrichsville, OH). The Electrics record now stands at 9-4.

With the loss, Wellston falls to 6-5 on the campaign. The Golden rockets travel to Alexander (Albany, OH) to battle the Spartans in a Tri-Valley - Ohio challenge on Monday, April 17. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 5-3. Alexander lost 6-0 in their recent league challenge against Meigs (Pomeroy, OH)
