Texas High School Softball - Canyon gets by Smithson Valley

The Canyon Cougars nipped the host Smithson Valley Rangers softball squad by a final score of 2-1 in Friday's league battle.

The Cougars (22-0) will now prepare for their battle against Seguin (Seguin, TX). The Matadors go into the 5A Region IV District 26 battle with a 23-8 record. In their last battle, Seguin held off Veterans Memorial (San Antonio, TX), 4-3, in a league battle.

The Rangers now possess a 17-13 record. They play next when they travel to Boerne-Champion for a 5A Region IV District 26 battle on Tuesday, April 18. Smithson Valley will confront a Chargers squad coming off a 9-4 league loss to Pieper (San Antonio, TX). The Chargers record now stands at 9-13.
