Catoctin Cougars (Thurmont, MD) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Middletown Knights (Middletown, MD), 2-0 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they host Smithsburg for a CMC challenge on Monday, April 17. Catoctin will face a Leopards squad coming off a 14-2 league win over Brunswick (Brunswick, MD). The Leopards record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Middletown falls to 4-7 on the campaign. The Knights host Boonsboro (Boonsboro, MD) to face the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 17. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 6-3. Boonsboro lost 6-5 in their recent league challenge against Williamsport (Williamsport, MD)
