Volcano Vista Hawks (Albuquerque, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Cibola Cougars (Albuquerque, NM), 17-15 in a league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 14-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Atrisco Heritage Academy for a 5A District 1 challenge on Tuesday, April 18. Volcano Vista will face a Jaguars squad coming off a 8-7 league loss to Rio Rancho (Rio Rancho, NM). The Jaguars record now stands at 12-10.

With the loss, Cibola falls to 17-5 on the campaign. The Cougars host Cleveland (Rio Rancho, NM) to face the Storm in a 5A District 1 challenge on Tuesday, April 18. The Storm enter the challenge with a record of 7-13. Cleveland won 8-7 in their recent league challenge against Atrisco Heritage Academy (Albuquerque, NM)
