Harlingen Cardinals (Harlingen, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Rivera Raiders (Brownsville, TX), 10-6 in a league challenge.

The Cardinals now own a 14-13 record. They take the field next when they host Los Fresnos for a 6A Region IV District 32 challenge on Tuesday, April 18. Harlingen will face a Falcons squad coming off a 8-1 league loss to San Benito (San Benito, TX). The Falcons record now stands at 25-6.

With the loss, Rivera falls to 11-12 on the campaign. The Raiders travel to Hanna (Brownsville, TX) to face the Golden Eagles in a 6A Region IV District 32 challenge on Tuesday, April 18. The Golden Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 9-19. Hanna lost 17-0 in their recent league challenge against Weslaco (Weslaco, TX)
