The Westport Wildcats routed the host Lexington Minutemen softball squad by a count of 17-7 in Friday's non-league battle.

The Wildcats (4-2) will now prepare for their battle against Bishop Connolly (Fall River, MA). The Cougars go into the Mayflower - Comprehensive battle with a 1-0 record.

The Minutemen now sport a 2-2 record. They play next when they host Reading Memorial for a Middlesex battle on Wednesday, April 19.
