Texas Tigers (Texarkana, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Marshall Mavericks (Marshall, TX), 4-3 in a league challenge.

The Tigers now sport a 10-11 record. They take the field next when they host Whitehouse for a 5A Region II District 15 challenge on Tuesday, April 18. Texas will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 6-0 league win over Mt. Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 24-6.

With the loss, Marshall falls to 8-18 on the campaign. The Mavericks host Longview (Longview, TX) to face the Lobos in a 5A Region II District 15 challenge on Tuesday, April 18. The Lobos enter the challenge with a record of 9-6. Longview lost 3-2 in their recent league challenge against Hallsville (Hallsville, TX)
