Illinois High School Softball - Oblong nudges Martinsville

April 14, 2023: Oblong, IL 62449

Oblong Panthers (Oblong, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Martinsville Bluestreaks (Martinsville, IL), 7-6 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 2-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Altamont for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 15. Oblong will battle a Indians squad coming off a 10-0 non-league loss to Newton (Newton, IL). The Indians record now stands at 5-10.

With the loss, Martinsville falls to 1-6 on the campaign. The Bluestreaks host Mulberry Grove (Mulberry Grove, IL) to battle the Aces in a Egyptian Illini challenge on Saturday, April 15. The Aces enter the challenge with a record of 2-4. Mulberry Grove won 22-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Father McGivney Catholic (Glen Carbon, IL)
