Texas High School Softball - McAllen bounces Vela

Spectators at Friday's league match between the McAllen Bulldogs (McAllen, TX) and the visiting Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX), witnessed McAllen's softball squad tip Vela by a count of 6-2.

The Bulldogs now sport a 18-7 record. They play next when they travel to Sharyland for a 5A Region IV District 31 match on Tuesday, April 18. McAllen will meet a Rattlers squad coming off a 12-2 league loss to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North (Pharr, TX). The Rattlers record now stands at 2-13.

With the loss, Vela moves to 0-8 on the season. The Sabercats host Pioneer (Mission, TX) to meet the Diamondbacks in a 5A Region IV District 31 match on Tuesday, April 18. The Diamondbacks go into the match with a record of 24-3. Pioneer won 17-1 in their recent league match against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest (Pharr, TX)
