New Castle Hurricanes (New Castle, PA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Western Beaver Golden Beavers (Industry, PA), 10-8 in a league challenge.

The Hurricanes now sport a 2-5 record. They take the field next when they host Moon Area for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 17. New Castle will face a Tigers squad coming off a 10-9 league loss to Mars (Mars, PA). The Tigers record now stands at 0-5.

With the loss, Western Beaver falls to 2-2 on the campaign. The Golden beavers travel to South Fayette (McDonald, PA) to face the Lions in a WPIAL 5A 3 challenge on Monday, April 17. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 4-3.
