Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) boosters exited the stadium pleased Monday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the host Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), 8-0 in a league test.

With the triumph, Watauga moves its record to 6-4 on the campaign. The Pioneers host Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC) to clash with the Huskies in a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Tuesday, April 15. The Huskies come into the test with a record of 6-2. Ashe County won 2-1 in their recent league match against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC)

The Patriots now sport a 5-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Alexander Central for a Northwestern 3A/4A match on Tuesday, April 15. Freedom will meet a Cougars team coming off a 1-0 league win over Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 4-4.
