The crowd at Monday's league bout between the Brentwood Spartans (Pittsburgh, PA) and the host Northgate Flames (Pittsburgh, PA), observed Brentwood's softball team get by Northgate by a tally of 8-5.

The Spartans (2-4) will now prepare for their bout against South Allegheny (McKeesport, PA). The Gladiators go into the WPIAL 2A 2 bout with a 6-1 record. In their last bout, South Allegheny tipped Shady Side Academy (Pittsburgh, PA), 16-0, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Flames clash with the Shady Side Academy Bulldogs (Pittsburgh, PA) in a WPIAL 2A 2 bout, on Wednesday, April 16. Northgate will attempt to advance on its 6-4 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 1-4 record after their 16-0 league loss to South Allegheny (McKeesport, PA).
