The Hughesville Spartans triumphed over the visiting Bucktail Bucks softball squad by a count of 12-2 in Monday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Spartans play the Southern Columbia Area Tigers (Catawissa, PA) in a Heartland III challenge, on Tuesday, April 15. Hughesville will attempt to upgrade on its 6-1 season record. The Tigers enter the challenge with a 2-4 record after their 10-3 league loss to Montoursville (Montoursville, PA).

The Bucks (3-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Northwest Area (Shickshinny, PA). The Rangers enter the Mid-Penn D4 challenge with a 8-1 record. In their last challenge, Northwest Area overcame Benton (Benton, PA), 22-0, in a league challenge.
