The Grants Pirates softball team scored 14 runs and held the host Laguna Acoma Hawks to 5 in the Pirates non-league win on Monday.

The Pirates now possess a 8-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Thoreau for a non-league battle on Tuesday, April 15. Grants will confront a Hawks team coming off a 19-0 non-league loss to Espanola Valley (Espanola, NM). The Hawks record now stands at 3-8.

With the loss, Laguna Acoma moves to 9-5 on the season. The Hawks travel to Hozho Academy (Gallup, NM) to confront the Wolves in a A/2A District 1 battle on Thursday, April 17. The Wolves come into the battle with a record of 12-2. Hozho Academy won 19-5 in their recent non-league battle against Zuni (Zuni, NM)
