The Independence Wildcats softball team scored 16 runs and held the visiting Holly Springs Hawks to 0 in the Wildcats league win on Monday.

The Wildcats now sport a 11-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Olive Branch for a non-league battle on Monday, April 14. Independence will confront a Conquistadors team coming off a 15-5 league loss to Lake Cormorant (Lake Cormorant, MS). The Conquistadors record now stands at 1-15.

With the loss, Holly Springs moves to 3-2 on the season. The Hawks travel to Humphreys County (Belzoni, MS) to confront the Cowboys in a non-league battle on Thursday, April 17. The Cowboys come into the battle with a record of 7-4. Humphreys County won 14-12 in their recent non-league battle against Yazoo City (Yazoo City, MS)
