Prout Crusaders (Wakefield, RI) supporters left the game thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI), 9-5 in a league game.

With the triumph, Prout improves its record to 3-3 on the year. The Crusaders travel to South Kingstown (Wakefield, RI) to play the Rebels in a Division 2 game on Wednesday, April 16. The Rebels enter the game with a record of 1-3. South Kingstown lost 12-0 in their recent non-league game against Westerly (Westerly, RI)

The Sentinels now hold a 3-2 record. They play next when they host St. Mary Academy-Bay View for a Division 1 game on Tuesday, April 22.
