In Friday's non-league game, the host Sumiton Christian Eagles baseball team scored a tight 10-8 victory over the Lamar County Bulldogs.
The Eagles (7-2) will now prepare for their game against Cordova (Cordova, AL). The Blue Devils come into the non-league challenge with a 2-4 record. In their last challenge, Cordova by Mortimer Jordan (Kimberly, AL), 6-2, in a non-league challenge.
With the defeat, Lamar County falls to 1-8 on the season.
