La Cueva Bears (Albuquerque, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM), 7-4 in a league challenge.

The Bears now own a 9-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rio Rancho for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 19. La Cueva will battle a Rams squad coming off a 19-16 league win over Cleveland (Rio Rancho, NM). The Rams record now stands at 15-2.

With the loss, Sandia falls to 1-4 on the campaign.
