The Avery County Vikings softball team (Newland, NC), was routed 21-1 in Friday's league test with the visiting Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC)

Coming up next, the Wildcats clash with the East Burke Cavaliers (Connelly Springs, NC) in a non-league test, on Friday, April 22. Draughn will attempt to improve on its 12-4 season record. The Cavaliers come into the test with a 7-9 record after their 9-1 league win over Lincolnton (Lincolnton, NC).
