La Cueva Bears (Albuquerque, NM) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM), 10-0 in a league test.
With the win, La Cueva upgrades its record to 17-4 on the season. The Bears host Farmington (Farmington, NM) to battle the Scorpions in a 5A District 2 test on Saturday, April 22. The Scorpions go into the game with a record of 11-9.
The Matadors (13-8) will now prepare for their game against Piedra Vista (Farmington, NM). The Panthers go into the 5A District 2 game with a 15-7 record. In their last game, Piedra Vista overcame West Mesa (Albuquerque, NM), 22-0, in a league game.
