Berkeley Stags (Moncks Corner, SC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lexington Wildcats (Lexington, SC), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Stags now own a 6-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wando for a AAAAA Region 6 challenge on Monday, April 17. Berkeley will battle a Warriors squad coming off a 4-3 league win over Cane Bay (Summerville, SC). The Warriors record now stands at 3-7.

With the loss, Lexington falls to 15-2 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Fort Dorchester (North Charleston, SC) to battle the Patriots in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 15. The Patriots enter the challenge with a record of 2-6. Fort Dorchester lost 6-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Timberland (St. Stephen, SC)
