Illinois High School Softball - Normal University gets by Bloomington Central Catholic

The Normal University Pioneers got by the visiting Bloomington Central Catholic Saints softball squad by a final score of 2-1 in Saturday's non-league battle.

The Pioneers (14-4) will now prepare for their battle against Springfield Southeast (Springfield, IL). The Spartans go into the Central State Eight battle with a 0-6 record. In their last battle, Springfield Southeast was edged by Springfield (Springfield, IL), 17-0, in a league battle.

The Saints now possess a 8-8 record. They play next when they travel to Tolono Unity for a Illini Prairie battle on Monday, April 17. Bloomington Central Catholic will meet a Rockets squad coming off a 13-3 non-league win over Salt Fork (Sidell, IL). The Rockets record now stands at 10-4.
