The crowd at Saturday's non-league match between the Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC) and the host East Burke Cavaliers (Connelly Springs, NC), saw Draughn's softball squad achieve victory over East Burke by a count of 10-1.

The Wildcats now sport a 15-2 record. They take the field next when they host Rosman for a Western Highlands 1A/2A match on Tuesday, April 18. Draughn will face a Tigers squad coming off a 4-0 non-league loss to Polk County (Columbus, NC). The Tigers record now stands at 4-10.

With the loss, East Burke falls to 8-8 on the campaign. The Cavaliers host Bunker Hill (Claremont, NC) to face the Bears in a Catawba Valley Athletic 2A match on Tuesday, April 18. The Bears enter the match with a record of 3-9. Bunker Hill lost 13-0 in their recent league match against West Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC)
