Goddard Rockets (Roswell, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Portales Rams (Portales, NM), 17-4 in a league challenge.

The Rockets now own a 7-13 record. They take the field next when they host Lovington for a 4A District 4 challenge on Wednesday, April 19. Goddard will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 8-4 league loss to Artesia (Artesia, NM). The Wildcats record now stands at 13-7.

With the loss, Portales falls to 9-9 on the campaign. The Rams travel to Artesia (Artesia, NM) to battle the Bulldogs in a 4A District 4 challenge on Tuesday, April 18. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 14-5. Artesia won 8-4 in their recent league challenge against Lovington (Lovington, NM)
