The crowd at Saturday's non-league match between the Metamora Redbirds (Metamora, IL) and the visiting Loyola Academy Ramblers (Wilmette, IL), saw Metamora's softball squad nip Loyola Academy by a count of 7-2.

The Redbirds now sport a 13-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Limestone for a Mid-Illini match on Tuesday, April 18. Metamora will face a Rockets squad coming off a 7-6 league loss to Morton (Morton, IL). The Rockets record now stands at 2-6.

With the loss, Loyola Academy falls to 5-9 on the campaign. The Ramblers travel to Fenwick (Oak Park, IL) to face the Friars in a GCAC- Red match on Tuesday, April 18. The Friars enter the match with a record of 6-6. Fenwick lost 13-1 in their recent league match against St. Laurence (Burbank, IL)
