The Normal University Pioneers softball team scored 16 runs and limited the visiting Springfield Southeast Spartans to 0 in the Pioneers league triumph on Saturday.
With the triumph, Normal University improves its record to 14-4 on the year. The Pioneers host Springfield (Springfield, IL) to clash with the Senators in a Central State Eight game on Tuesday, April 18. The Senators come into the game with a record of 11-1. Springfield won 5-3 in their recent non-league game against Auburn (Auburn, IL)
In their next game, the Spartans clash with the Jacksonville Crimsons (Jacksonville, IL) in a Central State Eight game, on Tuesday, April 18. Springfield Southeast will attempt to improve on its 0-8 season record.
