Highland Tech Rams (Gastonia, NC) fans were thrilled Monday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC), 5-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Rams confront the Cherryville Ironmen (Cherryville, NC) in a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A challenge, on Tuesday, April 16. Highland Tech will attempt to better on its 8-3 season record. The Ironmen enter the challenge with a 0-11 record after their 5-0 league loss to Shelby (Shelby, NC).

The Golden Lions now have a 2-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bessemer City for a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A challenge on Tuesday, April 16. Shelby will confront a Yellow Jackets team coming off a 9-0 league loss to Thomas Jefferson (Mooresboro, NC). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 1-8.
