West Springfield Spartans (Springfield, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Fairfax Lions (Fairfax, VA), 18-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they host Lake Braddock for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 17. West Springfield will battle a Bruins squad coming off a 12-10 non-league loss to Robinson (Fairfax, VA). The Bruins record now stands at 2-2.

With the loss, Fairfax falls to 0-7 on the campaign. The Lions travel to South County (Lorton, VA) to battle the Stallions in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 17. The Stallions enter the challenge with a record of 3-2. South County won 7-5 in their recent non-league challenge against West Potomac (Alexandria, VA)
