The Alleghany Cougars softball team scored 13 runs and limited the visiting Wilson Memorial Green Hornets to 3 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, Alleghany moves its record to 3-2 on the year. The Cougars host Glenvar (Salem, VA) to clash with the Highlanders in a Three Rivers game on Tuesday, April 16. The Highlanders come into the game with a record of 5-4. Glenvar won 3-2 in their recent league game against Floyd County (Floyd, VA)

In their next game, the Green Hornets clash with the Staunton Storm (Staunton, VA) in a Shenandoah game, on Tuesday, April 16. Wilson Memorial will attempt to move on its 1-6 season record. The Storm come into the game with a 1-5 record after their 19-13 non-league loss to Mountain View (Quicksburg, VA).
