Pilgrim Patriots (Warwick, RI) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Chariho Chargers (Wood River Junction, RI), 5-4 in a league challenge.

The Patriots now sport a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they host La Salle Academy for a Division 1 (State) challenge on Thursday, April 18. Pilgrim will face a Rams squad coming off a 10-0 league win over Moses Brown (Providence, RI). The Rams record now stands at 7-0.

With the loss, Chariho falls to 1-5 on the campaign. The Chargers host Smithfield (Esmond, RI) to face the Sentinels in a Division 1 (State) challenge on Tuesday, April 16. The Sentinels enter the challenge with a record of 1-3. Smithfield lost 9-4 in their recent league challenge against Prout (Wakefield, RI)
