Cherokee Indians (Cherokee, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Tharptown Wildcats (Russellville, AL), 6-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Indians now own a 18-14 record. They take the field next when they travel to Covenant Christian for a 1A Area 16 challenge on Tuesday, April 16. Cherokee will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 11-3 non-league loss to Colbert Heights (Tuscumbia, AL). The Eagles record now stands at 5-12.

With the loss, Tharptown falls to 15-18 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Colbert Heights (Tuscumbia, AL) to battle the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 16. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 22-8. Colbert Heights won 11-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Covenant Christian (Tuscumbia, AL)
