Homewood Patriots (Homewood, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Clay-Chalkville Cougars (Pinson, AL), 12-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 10-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Shades Valley for a 6A Area 9 challenge on Tuesday, April 16. Homewood will face a Mounties squad coming off a 26-7 non-league win over Pinson Valley (Pinson, AL). The Mounties record now stands at 5-10.

With the loss, Clay-Chalkville falls to 9-13 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Woodlawn (Birmingham, AL) to face the Colonels in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 16. The Colonels enter the challenge with a record of 3-10.
