The Halifax County Comets softball team scored 13 runs and limited the host Dan River Wildcats to 5 in the Comets non-league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, Halifax County improves its record to 9-2 on the year. The Comets travel to Bassett (Bassett, VA) to clash with the Bengals in a Piedmont game on Wednesday, April 17. The Bengals come into the game with a record of 1-8. Bassett lost 23-11 in their recent league game against Tunstall (Dry Fork, VA)

In their next game, the Wildcats clash with the Chatham Cavaliers (Chatham, VA) in a Dogwood game, on Wednesday, April 17. Dan River will attempt to improve on its 4-4 season record. The Cavaliers come into the game with a 4-5 record after their 5-3 non-league loss to Randolph-Henry (Charlotte Court House, VA).
