Palmetto Mustangs (Williamston, SC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Daniel Lions (Central, SC), 10-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 13-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Fountain Inn for a AAA Region 2 challenge on Tuesday, April 16. Palmetto will battle a Fury squad coming off a 19-1 league loss to Belton-Honea Path (Honea Path, SC). The Fury record now stands at 4-9.

With the loss, Daniel falls to 10-9 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Crescent (Iva, SC) to battle the Tigers in a AAA Region 1 challenge on Tuesday, April 16. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 11-4. Crescent lost 11-10 in their recent league challenge against West-Oak (Westminster, SC)
