West Carter Comets (Olive Hill, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Fairview Eagles (Ashland, KY), 6-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Comets now own a 4-7 record. They take the field next when they host East Carter for a District 62 challenge on Tuesday, April 16. West Carter will battle a Raiders squad coming off a 4-1 non-league win over Scott (Madison, WV). The Raiders record now stands at 10-3.

With the loss, Fairview falls to 7-5 on the campaign. The Eagles host St. Joseph Central (Huntington, WV) to battle the Irish in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 16. The Irish enter the challenge with a record of 3-3.
