The Goodhue Wildcats (Goodhue, MN) softball nipped the host Houston Hurricanes (Houston, MN), 5-4 in Monday's non-league bout.

The Wildcats (1-5) will now prepare for their bout against Zumbrota-Mazeppa (Zumbrota, MN). The Cougars go into the Hiawatha Valley bout with a 4-1 record. In their last bout, Zumbrota-Mazeppa was edged by Ellsworth (Ellsworth, WI), 13-2, in a non-league bout.

The Hurricanes now possess a 6-3 record. They play next when they host Spring Grove for a bout on Tuesday, April 16. Houston will confront a Lions squad coming off a 17-2 league win over Mabel-Canton (Mabel, MN). The Lions record now stands at 1-4.
