The Sequoyah Chiefs softball team scored 5 runs and limited the visiting Lenoir City Panthers to 1 in the Chiefs league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, Sequoyah moves its record to 8-3 on the year. The Chiefs travel to Heritage (Maryville, TN) to clash with the Mountaineers in a 3A District 5 game on Tuesday, April 16. The Mountaineers come into the game with a record of 7-6. Heritage lost 16-4 in their recent non-league game against Gibbs (Corryton, TN)

In their next game, the Panthers clash with the South-Doyle Cherokees (Knoxville, TN) in a 3A District 5 game, on Tuesday, April 16. Lenoir City will attempt to move on its 7-10 season record. The Cherokees come into the game with a 4-6 record after their 7-2 league win over Loudon (Loudon, TN).
