South-Doyle Cherokees (Knoxville, TN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Loudon Redskins (Loudon, TN), 7-2 in a league challenge.

The Cherokees now own a 4-6 record. They take the field next when they host Lenoir City for a 3A District 5 challenge on Tuesday, April 16. South-Doyle will battle a Panthers squad coming off a 5-1 league loss to Sequoyah (Madisonville, TN). The Panthers record now stands at 7-10.

With the loss, Loudon falls to 3-8 on the campaign. The Redskins host McMinn Central (Englewood, TN) to battle the Chargers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 16. The Chargers enter the challenge with a record of 5-6. McMinn Central won 6-1 in their recent league challenge against Sweetwater (Sweetwater, TN)
