Middlesboro Yellowjackets (Middlesboro, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting South Laurel Cardinals (London, KY), 6-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Yellowjackets now own a 6-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Harlan for a District 52 challenge on Tuesday, April 16. Middlesboro will battle a Green Dragons squad coming off a 11-0 non-league loss to Jackson County (McKee, KY). The Green Dragons record now stands at 5-6.

With the loss, South Laurel falls to 10-5 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Madison Southern (Berea, KY) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 16. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 5-8.
