The Purvis Tornadoes softball team scored 12 runs and limited the visiting Picayune Maroon Tide to 4 in the Tornadoes non-league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, Purvis moves its record to 18-3 on the year. The Tornadoes travel to Stringer (Stringer, MS) to clash with the Red Devils in a non-league game on Tuesday, April 16. The Red Devils come into the game with a record of 17-5. Stringer won 14-2 in their recent non-league game against Mize (Mize, MS)

In their next game, the Maroon Tide clash with the Hancock Hawks (Kiln, MS) in a 6A Region 4 game, on Tuesday, April 16. Picayune will attempt to move on its 8-14 season record. The Hawks come into the game with a 14-3 record after their 11-1 league win over Long Beach (Long Beach, MS).
