Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) backers went home content Tuesday as they witnessed their baseball team knock off the visiting Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), 11-1 in a league challenge.

The Pioneers now own a 9-11 record. They take the field next when they host Ashe County for a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge on Thursday, April 17. Watauga will clash with a Huskies team coming off a 13-10 league loss to South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 9-10.

With the defeat, Freedom drops to 6-11 on the year. The Patriots travel to Mitchell (Bakersville, NC) to clash with the Mountaineers in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 16. The Mountaineers go into the challenge with a record of 9-8. Mitchell won 12-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Bethel Christian Academy (Spruce Pine, NC)
