The Lyford Bulldogs (Lyford, TX) baseball trounced the host Progreso Red Ants (Progreso, TX), 17-3 in Tuesday's league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 18-8 record. They take the field next when they host Raymondville for a 3A Region IV District 32 challenge on Thursday, April 17. Lyford will clash with a Bearkats team coming off a 3-2 non-league win over Premont (Premont, TX). The Bearkats record now stands at 15-9.

With the defeat, Progreso drops to 12-8 on the year. The Red ants travel to Rio Hondo (Rio Hondo, TX) to clash with the Bobcats in a 3A Region IV District 32 challenge on Thursday, April 17. The Bobcats go into the challenge with a record of 15-10. Rio Hondo won 6-5 in their recent league challenge against Santa Rosa (Santa Rosa, TX)
