In Tuesday's league game, the visiting North Mac Panthers baseball team scored a close 5-2 victory over the Southwestern Piasa Birds.

The Panthers (9-4) will now prepare for their game against Staunton (Staunton, IL). The Bulldogs enter the South Central game with a 7-6 record. In their last game, Staunton held off Hillsboro (Hillsboro, IL), 12-2, in a league game.

Next, the Piasa Birds face the Marquette Catholic Explorers (Alton, IL) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, April 16. Southwestern will attempt to upgrade on its 3-10 season record. The Explorers enter the bout with a 9-5 record after their 8-7 non-league loss to Collinsville (Collinsville, IL).
