The Watauga Pioneers baseball team scored 14 runs and held the visiting Freedom Patriots to 1 in the Pioneers non-league win on Tuesday.

The Pioneers now hold a 9-6 record. They take the field next when they host Ashe County for a non-league test on Thursday, April 17. Watauga will play a Huskies team coming off a 13-2 league loss to South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 2-11.

With the defeat, Freedom drops to 0-8 on the year. The Patriots host Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC) to play the Cougars in a test on Thursday, April 17. The Cougars go into the test with a record of 9-8. Alexander Central won 4-2 in their recent league test against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC)
