The Hermitage Hermits triumphed over the host Lafayette County Cougars softball squad by a count of 14-0 in Tuesday's league challenge.

Next, the Hermits meet the Bearden Bears (Bearden, AR) in a 1A Region 8 challenge, on Thursday, April 17. Hermitage will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record. The Bears enter the challenge with a 5-3 record after their 15-0 league loss to Taylor (Taylor, AR).

The Cougars (2-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Emerson (Emerson, AR). The Pirates enter the 1A Region 8 challenge with a 3-4 record. In their last challenge, Emerson was routed by Taylor (Taylor, AR), 18-0, in a league challenge.
